With Xabi Alonso's future at Anfield still under scrutiny despite Juventus' admission that they have completed their summer recruitment drive, and Lucas, Ryan Babel and Javier Mascherano having been called up by their respective countries, do you think Rafa Benitez should withdraw Monster Masch from the Argentina squad for the Beijing Olympics?
Although he only stands to miss two Premier League matches against Sunderland and Middlesbrough should Argentina reach the latter stages of the tournament, and with 'Tommy' being one of his country's over-age players, we want your verdict on whether Rafa should demand the popular midfielder puts club before country.

Manchester United are still embroiled in the will he go/will he stay Ronaldo farce. Chelsea have brought in Deco, Jose Bosingwa and a former World Cup-winning coach in Luiz Felipe Scolari, while Arsenal have brought in talented schemer Samir Nasri from Marseille, a player we were linked to not so long ago. And, they're also looking at hijacking our bid for Gareth Barry.
Meanwhile, perennial pretenders to the Champions League qualifying positions, Tottenham, have impressed with the acquisitions of some of Europe's top young talent, including Croatia's much sought after playmaker Luka Modric, Barcelona's own wonderkid Giovani dos Santos and PSV Eindhoven's impressive Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.

Following the arrival of Brazilian Diego Cavalieri at Anfield and with Pepe Reina the Reds' established and undisputed number one goalkeeper, it looks increasingly likely that highly-rated Scott Carson will depart Liverpool for good this summer. With newly-promoted Stoke City having had a bid accepted for the stopper, it looks just a matter of time before the England keeper departs Anfield for good.
However, we want to know whether you think Rafa Benitez has ever given his young keeper an extended chance to make the goalkeeper's position his own? If you look at the evidence, it appears not.
When Carson arrived at Liverpool as a fresh-faced 19-year-old from Leeds United in January 2005, it seemed to many that he would be the natural long-term successor to Jerzy Dudek.

Reds' legend Robbie Fowler could be set for one last shot at the big time, after joining up with Blackburn Rovers on their pre-season trip to Germany in an effort to win a contract at the Lancashire club.
Fowler, who scored six goals in 16 appearances last time out during an injury riddled campaign playing in the Championship for Cardiff City, could win himself a contract for next season if he impresses his former team-mate at Liverpool, Paul Ince, who recently took over as Rovers' new manager.
Fowler had seemed set to finish his playing career in the second tier of English football after being offered a new contract to stay in the Welsh capital. But, after hearing of Ince's interest, Fowler's long-time agent George Scott told the South Wales Echo that his client's offer to join Rovers' on their pre-season tour was "too good an opportunity to turn down."

After admitting yesterday that Valencia's superstar forward David Villa, 26, was one of the names on his summer transfer hit list, Reds boss Rafa Benitez has now performed something of a u-turn by revealing he will not be making an offer for the Euro 2008 top goalscorer.
Instead, when quizzed about alternative targets for the forthcoming campaign, Benitez remained coy on the subject of apparent interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane. However, he did admit the Republic of Ireland record scorer, who recently turned 28, was one of the players on his radar: "I said the other day that he is one of the names we had on our list, but I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us.
"We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names, but at this moment, not our target. Keane is one of the other names and okay we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now."
But who would you prefer given the choice? They're both fantastic strikers and prolific in front of goal, but if you were Rafa who would you choose to partner Torres next season?

Tis the season to be moving tralalalalalalalala. Well at least it is for a number of former Kop favourites anyway.
In addition to the recent departures of Harry Kewell, Anthony Le Tallec(the new Zidane, yeh right!), John Arne Riise and 'Two Metre' Peter Crouch, a large collection of former Reds have also been packing up their boots to head for pastures new.
Le Tallec's co-arrival from Le Havre in 2003, Florent Sinama-Pongolle, has left Spanish club Recreativo de Huelva to team-up with fellow ex-Red Luis Garcia at Atletico Madrid following a fruitful first two seasons in La Liga which yielded 22 goals.
