Could former Liverpool target David Villa be set for a move to England after all?
Unfortunately yes he could, and ironically to replace one Robbie Keane at Tottenham, after the Valencia striker's agent claimed that his client is excited by the prospect of a move to London to team up with former Sevilla boss, Juande Ramos.
Jose Luis Tamargo told The Guardian: "Many clubs have contacted me about the chances of a player who is guaranteed to score goals in England. But I am convinced if Spurs present an offer, Valencia will study the subject. David likes London and likes how Tottenham play with Juande Ramos. This is a club that excites him."
Personally, I'd rather Rafa went out and signed Villa but if we were to get Keane instead I'd be quite happy with that.
But do you think Villa would go to Spurs? Would you be happy to see him go to White Hart Lane if it meant Keane came to us? Who do you think would score more goals? Give your comments as usual below please.

It's been a pretty quiet few days around sunny Anfield, what with Rafa Benitez and the squad being away on their pre-season tour, the only transfer activity involving the arrival of youngster David Ngog and the same old Gareth Barry and Robbie Keane rumours doing the rounds in all the newspapers.
So, to bring back a few happy memories for all you faithful Kopites and Pie-eaters we want to know who you think was the most exciting player in Liverpool's long and illustrious history. Yes that's most exciting, not necessarily your favourite of all time (if there's a difference).

I'm sure it's not just me but are you, all our fellow Kopites and Pie-ites getting a little weary of this whole Gareth Barry situation?
Rafa obviously wants the guy. But he's not willing, or maybe able, to pay what Villa want for him which is alleged to be £18million. I personally don't think he's worth the sort of money Martin O'Neill wants for him, but when you consider that United paid around the same amount for England internationals Owen Hargreaves and Michael Carrick, do you think Rafa should just put an end to the whole episode and pay the money (if he can) or alternatively say no deal?
With Villa unlikely to reduce their demands, do you think it's time we end our pursuit of him and move on to other targets? Let us know below.

He's a legend of the club and when he speaks usually a lot of people listen. And now Match of the Day pundit Alan Hansen has said publicly what most fans have been saying for a long time, Liverpool FC need to sign wingers. Heighway, Callaghan, Johnston, Barnes. They were all great wingers in their day for the Reds. But will Rafa Benitez bow to public opinion? Who knows?
With the Spaniard apparently intent on signing Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry and Spurs forward Robbie Keane, can we even afford to buy any more players? It's doubtful, to say the least, with the coffers not exactly bulging thanks to our mounting debts (Yanks very much G&T).

Well I have to say I'm disappointed by the news today that Reds starlet Sebastian Leto is set to move on loan to Greek club Olympiakos.
I'm not saying that he should be stopped from going out on loan because I think first team football is an absolute must if he is ever to succeed at Anfield. But judging by his performances in his limited first team outings thus far, wouldn't it have been more beneficial for us and him if he went out on loan to another Premier League or Championship club for a season to get him used to the pace of our game?
Obviously Olympiakos are regular participants in the intensely competitive Champions League, but will Leto come back ready for the rigours of the Premier League? I'm not so sure. However, I hope I'm wrong. I hope he has a cracking season out in Greece and comes back ready to stake a genuine claim for our problematic left wing position.
And if we draw Olympiakos in a crucial Champions League tie and Leto is permitted to play, I'm sure we'll be able to rely on him to pop one in the top corner of his own net.
What do you think of Leto's move to Athens? Should Rafa have sent him out on loan in England? Let us know below.

He scored an astounding 33 goals in 47 first team appearances last term to keep the Kop bouncing all season long. But can our favourite Spanish striker, Fernando Torres, eclipse his achievements from last time out this coming season?
Well fellow forward Dirk Kuyt certainly thinks so. Kuyt told liverpoolfc.tv:
"I think Fernando already knows how difficult the Premier League can be, but he did really well last year. He is only 23 (actually 24 Dirk) and can only get better and better. The only thing he has to be careful about is that people are starting to know him now.
"But for a player like him, with his qualities, it is always going to be difficult to play against them. He showed that last season and can only improve. He knows that and the defenders know that as well. They will be afraid of him. If he stays fit he can do even better than last season."

Liverpool have today confirmed the signing of French starlet David Ngog from Paris St Germain for a bargain fee of around £1.5 million on a 4-year contract.
The 19-year-old striker only managed 3 goals in 25 appearances for Paul Le Guen's team over the past two seasons, but his record on the international scene across various age groups is encouraging to say the least. And, after refusing to sign a new contract at the under-achieving Parisian club with his deal entering its final year, Rafa Benitez took the opportunity to strengthen his forward line ahead of the new season following the departure of Peter Crouch to Portsmouth.
Ngog is a cousin of former Rangers and Newcastle defender Jean-Alain Boumsong. Let's just hope he fares better in the Premier League than his family member who was probably less successful on Tyneside than even Titus Bramble. He surely can't be any worse. I'll cross my fingers now.
Are you excited by the exciting forward's arrival? Do you think he can challenge for a first team place next season? Let us know below.
